Cut from this thing I'm working on

Back up for a minute, the twins, the arrival room, the poorly printed banner. In the plane, Sloane had been given ice cubes by the stewardess when she asked for something to snack on, because everyone had some kind of allergy to nuts now. Sloane didn’t—Sloane was actually a big fan of protein, and she carried almonds and old cranberries around with her in a weathered Ziploc all the time, but someone told on her (the guy across the aisle with the pink and white neck pillow wrapped around his head?) and the next thing she knew, the stewardess was kneeling beside her and whispering in a conspiratorial tone, “Ma’am, I’m sorry, you really can’t eat nuts.”
Back now to the banner and the countdown and the mother that Sloane hasn’t (physically) seen in such a time.
